Tackling Challenges Together: Problem Sponsors

Our H4 programmes offer government stakeholders a cost-effective, dynamic, and impactful approach to problem-solving, ensuring that challenges are addressed with the depth, agility, and innovation they require. Overall, our programmes deliver decision advantage at pace; in 10 weeks the Sponsor receives in-depth information about their problem and potential solution pathways to make immediate progress.

Every industry has its challenges, but the challenges faced within government and the Public Sector are arguably more important due to the sheer scale of potential impact on our everyday lives. For example: How do we help reduce waste, get to net-zero, or amplify marginalised voices? These big challenges can be distilled into smaller more manageable problems, but where do you start?

This is where H4MoD comes in. As a ‘Problem Sponsor’, you can submit a problem to us, and our problem sourcing and curation experts will help to refine it and then use it to connect you with an appropriate team of talented multi-disciplinary students to research, validate, and potentially solve your problem.

By participating in H4MoD, you will help educate students with critical innovation skills that will equip them for their future career. Plus, you walk away with more insight, a potential solution, and an opportunity to implement positive change in your organisation.

Benefits of being a problem sponsor

Testimonials: Take their word for it

“Having sat through the recent H4MoD presentations, in my opinion, [the student team] have conducted perhaps the most comprehensive attitudinal study of Royal Marine mentality for a generation, and their work as an external focus of evaluation offers a powerful perspective and insight that we would do well to listen to.”
— Lt Col Simon Tucker
“Only by truly understanding the problems that frontline operators face can we have any hope of solving them at the pace of relevance. The alternative - that is, the current status quo - is that focus is given to delivering on ‘requirements’, and maintaining processes, regardless of the outcome”
— SQn Ldr Pete Kennedy
