Shaping Tomorrow's Innovators Today

At CMP, we're more than an educational charity; we're a catalyst for change. Our mission? To equip and inspire future leaders to unite and solve the problems that touch all our lives. Through our 'Hacking 4' (H4) courses, accredited by universities, we teach Lean Start-up methods and nurture an ecosystem of mission-driven talent. It's about diving deep into real challenges, bringing together the UK Government, Academia, and Industry to focus on the problem, not just the solution. By shaking up traditional education and opening doors to entrepreneurship, CMP is crafting the problem-solvers of the future, today.

Our Values

  • Problem-Focused

It's not just about solving problems; it's about understanding them inside out. We believe that correctly identifying the problem is the first step towards the right solution.

  • Mission-Driven

Our roots in UK Defence have instilled a laser focus on mission-driven progress. We're dedicated to guiding future leaders towards careers that make a real-world impact.

  • Collaborative

We thrive on diverse thinking. Our H4 courses are hotbeds for collaboration, where varied perspectives come together to innovate and pivot solutions.

  • Entrepreneurial

Speed and adaptability are key. We foster quick learning and faster application, shaping leaders who can drive our nation forward with entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Innovative

Innovation is at our core. We're constantly evolving, exploring new ways to tackle challenges and empower our students.

Diversity & Inclusion

At CMP, diversity and inclusion are foundational. We embrace varied perspectives because they lead to better, more creative solutions. For us, diversity also goes beyond where people come from, it’s how they think. Diversity of thought is a critical component for success throughout our H4 programmes.

Our Roots and Reach

  • Born from the pioneering 'Hacking for Defense'™ course at Stanford University, CMP's journey began with the vision of Steve Blank, Pete Newell, and Joe Felter. Their goal? To harness the power of entrepreneurial minds in solving government's toughest challenges. Why? Because the challenges faced within Government and the Public Sector are arguably more important due to the sheer scale of potential impact on our everyday lives. For example: How do we help reduce waste, get to Net Zero, or amplify marginalised voices? These big challenges can be distilled into smaller more manageable problems, but where do you start? By bringing together academia, government, and the private sector, it is through our mission that we create catalysts for change and aim to leave a positive impact on our stakeholders and society in the process.

  • Our 'Hacking for' (H4) courses, now at 62 universities globally (25 by 2024 in the UK), are designed for mission-driven organisations. They bring fresh talent and new perspectives to longstanding problems, offering a unique approach to problem solving.

  • CMP's impact stretches far beyond the UK. In the US alone, over 50 universities host our H4 courses, and in Australia, our 'Hacking for National Security' course launched at the University of New South Wales in 2021.
