In 2024 we found ourselves at an inflection point. A moment when the gap between policy ambition and delivery capability widened across government. When Artificial Intelligence leapt from academic journals into everyday work, and when the future of higher education, Defence, Civil Service, and sustainability collided with the urgent need for a new generation of problem solvers.
This year, we didn’t just teach students how to think differently, we enabled government to think differently.
From the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to King’s College London, from Defence Digital to Sustainability Teams across the MOD, our programmes proved that our most challenging problems are not solved by thinking of better solutions, but by developing better problem solvers.
2024 was a year of strategic shift. CMP transitioned from an innovative programme to a strategic asset: H4MOD is now recognised as a formal competency in the UK Defence Academy’s Advanced Command Staff Course, and our alumni are influencing policy, digital capability, and frontline operations in post-programme employment. CMP has cemented itself as a leader in UK’s national innovation ecosystem.
Annual Review 2024
“By immersing future leaders in real-world defence challenges and equipping them with entrepreneurial methodologies, the programme fosters a crucial learning-by-doing mentality. The hands-on experience with Lean Startup principles and direct engagement with senior people provides them with unparalleled insights into our organisation's strategic and operational landscape.”
— DEPUTY COMMANDANT, ROYAL MILITARY ACADEMY SANDHURST, 2024
"The students showed a deep understanding of the problem and delivered innovative, real-world solutions - a great example of the power of international collaboration to make real world impact.”
— DR RICHARD TUNSTALL, UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS, H4 LEAD EDUCATOR, SPRING 2024
